Previously I was a professional badminton athlete and part of PBSI Bengkulu. However, now I am diligently pursuing my future as hotelier in Hotel Operation Program of Universitas Multimedia Nusantara because of scholarship. As someone who has not yet entered the hospitality industry before, the Hotel Operation program in UMN has given me an unbelievable amount of insight into the industry that I hope to soon become a part of. From learning about attitude, standards of service and also hotel management, now I feel that I’m much more prepared to enter the hospitality industry with my knowledge especially after I finished my second semester focusing in Front Office, Housekeeping and Laundry management. Hotel program in UMN provides a very complete and excellent lab facility and for lecturers, they have a lot of incredible knowledge and experience shared with students. The campus environment itself supports me for character in the world of work.

During my study at Universitas Multimedia Nusantara, majoring in Hotel Operation, I develop my skill as a hotelier. As I am from public high school, not from vocational, there are so many new lessons that I have to adapt here, such as how to handle the PMS Hotel System, handling guests during reservation, check-in and check-out, cleaning and make up room, etc. The lecturers are very friendly and kind. They are able communicate with students well and deliver the materials in English clearly. Also, I have to say that the facility in here are in the greatest condition because everything is still new and in perfect condition.

I have been interested in hospitality since long time ago and I love to serve other people. This fact has made me decided to choose Hotel Operation Program in Universitas Multimedia Nusantara. I am very happy to become a part of this program because during my experience learning here for the past two years, the program has allowed me to follow my passion. The program also provides the practicum with good facilities, skillful lecturers, and the most significant proof is that I have developed my English communication skill because we use English in our daily activities in classrooms.

Being part of the Diploma course in Hotel Operation Prorgam Universitas Multimedia Nusantara is a great pride for me. With good laboratory facilities and very competent lecturers, I get plenty of opportunities to develop my skills and knowledge in the hospitality industry. Not only is it a good campus environment, but also fun and friendly classmates will help me to reach my goal as a good hotelier. The program also assists students to do Industrial Placement in various five star hotels. During my third semester, I have applied and developed my skills in Front Office Department under the training in Pullman Hotel Thamrin. For the next Industrial Placement, I’m going to focus on honing my skill in Food and Beverage Service in one of another international chain hotel in Bali.

During my first year studying in Hotel Operation Program at Universitas Multimedia Nusantara, I honed my skills and knowledge in front office, housekeeping, and laundry management. I can practice in good labs and it surely helps me to learn giving the best service when I work in hotel industry. In this campus, we are using a brand new facility in the labs. The lecturers apply good learning methodology and successfully motivate the students by sharing their experience in the hospitality industry. Therefore, I am always motivated in studying about hotel management in campus.

Hi, I am Gebby, a diploma student from Hotel Operation Universitas Multimedia Nusantara first batch. During my first year in this study program, I learnt about front office, housekeeping, and laundry management for the first time. In my first and half year, I hone my skill and knowledge about handling guests and also how to maintain the hotel facility. I’ve spent my first Industrial Placement in Ritz Carlton Pacific Place Jakarta in Housekeeping Department quite well as I was also managed to be a candidate of Best Trainee there. What I really like and proud to study here is that because UMN has the complete facility for our practicum. During my first year study, students are supported by a comfortable front office laboratory, a complete housekeeping laboratory, and also a spacious laundry laboratory. For my fourth and fifth semester, I’ve used the kitchen and pastry lab, and learnt to serve food and beverage in our Restaurant lab. The lecturers have been very professional in teaching and sharing their tips from their own experience during their time in the industry.

Prior to studying with Hotel Operation Program in Universitas Multimedia Nusantara, I have no insight of working in hotel industry but I do know that I’m always interested in hospitality industry. When I finally chose Hotel Operation Program in UMN, I said to myself that I should receive the highest quality education while studying in this program. Hotel Operation is a new major in Universitas Multimedia Nusantara, but to be honest, this program is really beyond my expectation! I love the fact that we have our own floor to practice completely with the labs and the lecturers are really nice! I’m also very satisfied with all facilities in UMN as a whole. The facilities are not only well-maintained but they also accommodate our activities, be it academically or non-academically. All in all, thanks UMN for giving me a mind-blowing experience with a high-quality educational ambience.

In Hotel Operation Program of Universitas Multimedia Nusantara, I can learn about all major sections in the hotel. For the first 2 semesters, I’ve learned both theory and practical in Front Office Department, Housekeeping Department, and Laundry. On the third semester, I have done an Industrial Placement in Front Office Department in one of Marriot Hotels in Jakarta, Le Meridien, as Front Desk Agent. Now in my fifth semester, I’m back in campus to learn about Food and Beverage both Service and Production. I learnt not only to cook and bake, but I also learnt Mixology. What is surprising me is that even though Hotel Operation Program in UMN is still a new program, the labs are highly ready. I feel so comfortable when I study both in class or labs with the lecturers, because they are so professional in teaching. I can understand their teaching although the class runs fully in English.

Hello! My name is Gilar Febrizio Prihiyadi. I am a college student of Universitas Multimedia Nusantara, majoring in Hotel Operation Program. At first, I didn’t know anything about being a hotelier but during my days in UMN, my lecturers have taught me many things. For example, I got lessons on how to operate hotel as front desk agent and housekeeper. And on this semester I have learnt about F&B Service and Production. The lecturers taught me passionately and kindly answers my questions during our class section. I’m also grateful for my classmates who bring joy to me whenever I’m in the class. Learning in UMN is really a good experience for me.

I have joined Hotel Program in UMN since August 2017. For the past five semester, I have gained so much knowledge that I’ve never had before. For example, I know how to operate system in the front office area or I know the right step of how to make up rooms in hotel. This year, I learnt Food and Beverage service and production. I’m pursuing to land a job in five-star chain hotel after graduating from this program next year. FYI, all facilities needed for the learning and practicum are provided well in this campus. All of the lecturers are also supporting the student in all aspects, be it academically or non-academically. So, it is a great opportunity for everyone to be able to study here.

I just realized that he Hotel Operation program in UMN is like a solid base or more like a training camp built for having us to be motivated to have a successful career in hotels. Our location is in building D, third floor, and in that floor, there are classrooms, labs, and storage room. Hotel Operation program in UMN has lecturers that are competent in the hotel industry. I am very grateful to be part of it and having the experience through the Industrial Placement. By becoming a hotel program student in UMN, my confidence and my English communication skill are also improved tremendously.
